After a three-week trial, shareholders Kevin Place and Kristin Mathis obtained a defense verdict on behalf of a national retailer in a Traumatic Brain Injury case. Kevin and Kristin also beat the CCP section 998 offer that was made to plaintiff, and will be seeking expert costs and prevailing party costs. Plaintiff requested a verdict in the range of $15 – $20 million during closing argument. The jury deliberated two-hours before returning their verdict. The case was tried in Contra Costa County before the Honorable Danielle K. Douglas.
