Attorneys Kevin Place and Sophia Arim secured a defense verdict in a Van Nuys, California slip-and-fall case, where the plaintiff sought $4.1 million in damages for alleged neck and back injuries requiring multiple surgeries and projected future procedures following a 2020 incident at a national retailer.
Plaintiff claimed that, because of the accident, she underwent a lumbar spine endoscopic microdiscectomy and had Vertiflex spacers placed. Plaintiff also claimed that, due to injuries from the incident, a future cervical discectomy and fusion would be required.
The jury deliberated for less than a day before returning a resounding 10-2 defense verdict for MVPF’s client.
